Top 6 Best Car Tuning Tips

You decided that you car is outdated. Well, don’t worry, because that is why they invented car tuning. No, you don’t need to go shopping for a new and very expensive car, you just need to embrace the idea of car tuning. Think about it this way: You, your look and style also need, from time to time, certain improvements, and so does your car. Not sure what to do, what to change and how to improve you car? Here are the best 6 tips you can use when deciding for car tuning:

3 General Tips about What to Consider and Why

1. Start from the idea that the improvements will cost you money. For sure, you don’t want to modify your car to the worse. So, say “no” to cheap equipment, to cheap car accessories and to unprofessional techniques. Be prepared to opt for the best of the best. But in order to make sure that you won’t harm your budget too much, evaluate the costs before you start the car tuning process. Make sure you include the services, equipment, all the accessories and necessary elements.

2. Think ahead. Make sure that the modifications you are about to bring to your car are not irreversible. Or, in case they are irreversible, make sure you will feel happy with them forever. Basically, car tuning is an actual investment, so you would better give it a lot of thought and consideration. Furthermore, decide on the type of the car tuning you are looking for: engine tuning, interior, exterior modification, body tuning or other forms.

3. Consider the purpose of your car. Who is using the car? What is the car used for? It is a family car? Are you using the car to go to work? Sure, you might want to add some bright yellow flames on the car’s exterior, but is this a proper look for a family car or for the car you use to go to work with? Make sure you can still use the same way you did and that the modifications do not affect the actual functionality of the vehicle.

3 Specific Tips: Engine Tuning and Aesthetic Tuning

4. One of the simplest and most efficient methods of enhancing the aspect of a car is by adding car wallpaper. It is easy, fast, and, even more importantly, it is quite affordable. There are wide ranges of colors, styles and patterns that can customize your car the way you desire.

5. If you are looking forward to adding more power, then you should not jump to the conclusion that the fitting exhausts and induction kits are the only available solution. In fact, they are a great solution, but you need much more than that, such as new and optimized brakes, plus the suspension tuning. So, in general, make sure you consider all the additional and necessary elements before you take any decision.

6 If your goal is to reach the optimal engine power, then there are some simple and effective tricks you can apply. First of all you need to make sure that there are no air leaks. How can you do that? You can check with the help of some silicon sealants, which should be applied on the carburetor. Secondly, you should keep the engine’s temperature around 150 degrees the first three times when you are running tanks of fuel and then keep the temperature of the engine around 200 degrees. Good luck!

What car should I get when I turn 18? Lotus Elise, BMW 335i, Acura TL Type S, or a Porsche Cayman S?

I am am living in Newport Beach and commuting to college. Out of the cars mentioned above, which one would be the best to drive around every day, take my girlfriend to the mall, and most of all, which one would make me stand out above all the other cars.

Your insurance bills will definitely "stand out" no matter which one you choose.

Go with the Acura. Its probably the cheapest one to insure, cheapest one to fix and you probably wont have such a hard time finding somebody that can fix an Acura. Plus, the Acura is probably the most reliable out of this group.

Will Monday racing for the V8 supercars catch on?

Depends if they put it on a public holiday again, like they just did. At least then we don't have to put up with footy being put before racing!!! If its not a public holiday then i dont see it catching on…

This weekend's regime worked REALLY well tho, especially weather wise too!!!

Will buying a sports performance clutch for my car increase torque significantly?

I was wondering. My car has the factory clutch kit, even though it's a sports car (Toyota Celica GT-S). I was wondering if I bought the most expensive sports clutch kit that there is would I see tremendous increase in torque for my car? If so about how much increase in torque?

Go read what a clutch actually does, because you apparently have no idea.

Think of it like your shoe. It provides the friction between your moving part (your leg/engine), and the part that you wish to move (the ground/transmission).

If you get a different shoe, it doesn't somehow magically increase the amount of torque your leg is putting out.

If your leg sucks, your leg sucks. No shoe will fix that.

It just means you won't slip on the ground as often.

Same idea. No gain in torque, just better transfer of the little that you do have.

Does super unleaded petrol enhance your cars performance or not?

Is it worth paying extra money for super unleaded or not?

Depends. Should be asking what car it is for. Some cars can but more probably in the real world you would be hard pressed to see the difference in ordinary driving. And more importantly, the average driver will probably not know how to make use of it.

Interesting link below to a real test. Note the cars. Now, will it work in a McDonalds Saturday night shopping trolly special AKA Saxo with a bean can on.

How would you classify a maserati?

I had a debate with my friend over whether Maserati's are sports cars or luxury cars. What do you think?

Both of course, but I'd say sports cars first. They look sporty and have great performance, first of all. But of course Bentleys also have those features and I'd consider Bentleys to be more of luxury cars. I guess it just has to do more with the company history. maserati has had a history of sports cars and racing, while Bentley has been known as a luxury car marque. Bentley doesn't have anything like the MC12, for example, which is purely a sports car. I also think the Gran Turismo just looks more exotic than any other luxury car out there. And even though the Quattroporte looks less exotic (but no less gorgeous), you can't deny the sound:

What is the fastest and cheapest ferrari?

I was just wondering what is the fastest ferrari but the cheapest.

Who says there aren't cheap Ferraris? The Mondial, 400, and Dino 308 GT4 all fall around the $20-25k range. (Remember the Motor Trend episode where they had to get an exotic for under 10k pounds?) Now those three are not the prettiest ferraris ever made, nor are they reliable, but the 400 has a V12 and sounds spectacular.

I'd agree with Mouth, the best Ferrari deal you can get is a used 360. They are gorgeous, have great performance, and can be cheap ($80-90k) if they are an earlier model with high mileage. F355s and 308s are also beautiful and a bit cheaper than you might expect for a Ferrari.
