Mercedes S 55 AMG

Nikola records nice german machine with V8 Engine near 5 star hotel in Skopje Macedonia..here are some infos:
Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The four-door S55 comes in one well-appointed trim level. The long list of standard features includes a DVD-based navigation system, 14-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, extensive leather and wood interior trim, a high-powered CD audio system and illuminated vanity mirrors for all four seating positions. Among the options are active, ventilated seats that feature built-in fans to keep one’s backside cool on sultry days, Distronic cruise control that automatically maintains a preset distance from the car in front of it and Parktronic that lets you know when you’re approaching a potentially damaging object in a parking lot.

Powertrains and Performance

The S55’s supercharged 5.5-liter V8 produces a stunning 493 hp and 505 lb-ft of torque. The power is managed by an AMG-tweaked five-speed automatic that furnishes 35-percent quicker gear changes and a “Speedshift” feature that allows drivers to shift it manually without taking their hands off the wheel. Mercedes claims this high-performance super-luxury sedan will hit 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds, a figure typically ociated with exotic sports cars bearing Italian names.

Safety

Mercedes’ “Pre-Safe” system is standard. It determines accident probability by using sensors belonging to the stability control system and the BrakeAssist feature. Should an accident appear unavoidable, the system applies split-second tensioning of the seatbelts, moves the front-passenger seat and power-adjustable individual rear seats to the most favorable positions and closes the sunroof (if the vehicle is skidding). If the accident is averted at the last moment, the seatbelt tensioning is cancelled and the seats reset to their original positions. Of course, Pre-Safe joins a list of already impressive safety features that includes four-wheel antilock disc brakes, electronic traction and stability control and seat-mounted side and side curtain airbags that protect the heads and torsos of both front and rear passengers.

Interior Design and Special Features

Virtually every luxury and convenience item to be found in an automobile, including a DVD-based navigation system and power door-closing ist, is standard on the S55. Still, there are optional designo interior trim packages which provide more dramatic leather and wood combinations, as well as dynamic multicontour front seats, four-zone climate control and power-adjustable rear seats.

Driving Impressions

The S55 has that enviable quality of feeling smaller and more nimble than its substantial size suggests. Acceleration rivals that of many exotic sports cars and even its handling could be described as nimble. Although it’s still not the kind of car you buy for the sole purpose of weekend jaunts through the hills, it will make the occasional detour home from the office a most pleasurable trip indeed.

Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Commercial

DaimlerChrysler introduced a new generation of the C-Class on January 18, 2007 and displayed it in the 2007 Geneva Auto Show. Sales started on March 31, 2007 in almost all European countries. The new vehicle has an extended wheelbase and tracks, a stiffer bodyshell and a design inspired by the most recent S-Class and some hints from the CLS-Class. The model has three levels of equipment – Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde. A high performance AMG version with a 6.2 L engine followed in September 2007, labelled C 63 AMG with 457 PS (335 kW)to rival the Audi RS4 and bmw m3. The Classic and Elegance lines retain the traditional Mercedes-Benz radiator grille, with a three-point star bonnet emblem. The Avantgarde line has a grille similar to that on Mercedes’ sport coupe models, with two horizontal bars and a large centre-mounted star. In the UK the Classic line is known as the SE and the Avantgarde line is known as the C-Class Sport, and comes with an AMG bodykit, and AMG alloy wheels as standard. The North American version is slightly different, as the Classic model is dropped. The Elegance is known as the C-Class Luxury and the Avantgarde wearing the AMG sports package is known as the C-Class sport. Both lines have an additional amber light in front of the front wheel well. New saloon and estate versions were announced in 2007, while the CLC-Class Sportcoupé will remain based on the W203 chassis. There will be an increase of component-sharing with other Mercedes’ models, namely the redesigned E- and S-Class, as well as the upcoming GLK-Class compact SUV. One of the most technological breakthroughs of this car is a special system exclusive to this class, named ‘Agility control’ package. This is an innovative system, which through its unique concept provides drivers with excellent agility and the traditional, luxurious Mercedes ride quality. It achieves this feat through a complex hydro-mechanical set up, which constantly analyses road conditions and driving ‘habits’, resultantly it adjusts damper & suspension settings acordingly to provide the driver the best possible balance between ride comfort and agility. To take things still further , there is even an ‘Advanced agility control’ package drivers can opt for, this system is an upgrade to the standard one, offering a ’sport’ mode button. The ‘Advanced agility’ package is a first for the C-class, and will be seen in future models, as the GLK.
Versions of the car are available with a choice of rear- and all-wheel drive (in the latter case an improved version of the 4MATIC system, not available in right-hand drive format), along with a variety of four and six-cylinder engines (and a 6.2 litre V8 in the C 63 AMG). Engines are the straight-4 M271 and V6 M272 petrol engines, straight-4 OM611 + OM651, and V6 OM642 Diesel engines. Six-speed manual transmissions are standard on all models (except the C 350), with the 7G-Tronic seven-gear automatic transmission available for six-cylinder engines (7G-Tronic is available for C 230K, C 280, C 300, C 320 CDI and standard for C 350) and a five speed automatic transmission available for the four cylinder models. In the United States, the C 300 Luxury and C 350 Sport are only available with the 7G-Tronic transmission, and the C 300 Sport comes with a six-speed manual transmission, and the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission as an option.
The development of the W204 C-Class involved the use of a “digital prototype”, which put a 2.1 terabyte digital replica of the car through a 15 million mile road course. This is an industry first which allowed for crash testing and more, before a physical prototype was actually constructed.
The C 63 AMG is reportedly the first AMG Mercedes designed from the ground up for performance, as compared to previous AMG cars which were more or less focused on the engine. The C 63 has a revised front end architecture that is taken from the CLK 63 AMG Black series. The revised 7-speed automatic transmission now has three shift modes – Comfort, Sport and Manual – with the last one running with the converter locked allowing the driver to hold the engine at the rev limit. The ESP can now be completely turned off, interfering only under heavy braking. The car also has the quickest, most responsive steering of any Mercedes to date. Car and Driver recently tested the car and got a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds; a 0-100 mph time of 9.2 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds at 116 mph (187 km/h). The top speed is electronically limited to 151 mph (243 km/h). This makes the C 63 the fastest production 4-door sedan in the world in terms of acceleration.
The 2007 Mercedes-Benz C Class was awarded “Car Of The Year” in Australia by Australian Motoring Magazine “WHEELS”, edging out the Ford Mondeo and Mazda 2 for the award. It was also awarded “Executive Car Of The Year” by Top Gear Magazine for the 2007 Top Gear Awards.

Mercedes Benz G55 AMG Promo Video

Mercedes-Benz secured military contracts for the vehicle in the late 1970s and offered a civilian version to the public in 1979. Designed to be the most durable, reliable, and rugged off roader, the G-wagen utilizes three fully locking differentials (one of the few vehicles sold in the U.S. to have such, along with the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Toyota 80-series Land Cruiser, Pinzgauer High Mobility All-Terrain Vehicle, and Mercedes-Benz Unimog). Among the engines offered in the G-Class for the 2004 model year is a 5.5-litre V8.
Marking its 25th anniversary, the 2005 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG was relaunched as the G55 Kompressor or G55K and received a boost in power, thanks to a 5.5-liter, supercharged V8 developing 469 horsepower (350 kW) and 516 lb•ft (700 N•m). of torque.
The G-Wagen was first offered for sale in 1979 and redesigned in 1990 and updated in 1997. A new version was expected for 2007, but the new GL-Class will not replace the G-Wagen and it will continue to be hand-built in Graz, Austria at an annual production rate of 4,000 to 6,000 units.
W460/W461
The original W460/W461 G-Wagen went onsale for the 1979 model year. It was offered in two wheelbases and three body styles: A 2-door short-wheelbase convertible, a 2-door short-wheelbase wagon, and a long-wheelbase 4-door wagon.

Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG Burnout

The SL500 was the top-selling version of the SL-Class early in the R230 series. It used a 5.0 L V8 engine, which produced 306 hp (228 kW) and 339 ft•lbf (460 N•m).
A 5.5 L 32-valve V8 engine replaced the 5.0 L found in the SL500 for 2007. The engine is essentially the old SL55 engine without the addition of supercharger. The 5.5 litre natrually aspirated V8 can also be found in the new SLK 55 AMG. This model will retain the SL500 name in most markets, but will be sold as the SL550 in North America. It now produces 382 hp (285 kW) and 391 ft•lbf (530 N•m). It now accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h).
In 2007, Mercedes will create 75 limited-edition 50th Anniversary SL550s. According to another article, Mercedes created 550 of these cars, all pewter in color with burgundy leather, black ash wood trim, 18-inch double five-spoked wheels, and matching 50th Anniversary Edition luggage.
The SL600 is the highest-output version of the non-AMG SL-Class models. It uses a V12 engine which produced 493 hp (368 kW) and 590 ft•lbf (800 N•m) from 2003 through 2006 and was uprated to 510 hp (380 kW) and 612 ft•lbf (830 N•m) for 2007. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, according to Mercedes-Benz. However Car and Driver achieved extremely impressive acceleration test figures with 60 mph (97 km/h) achieved in just 3.6 seconds, 100 mph (160 km/h) in 8.6 seconds and a Quarter Mile run in 11.9 seconds at 120 mph (190 km/h).
The SL55 AMG version was released in 2002 with a supercharged 5.4 Liter, 5439 cc Mercedes-AMG V8 engine. This produced 493 hp (368 kW) at 6,100 rpm and can propel the car to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.7 seconds, according to Mercedes-Benz. Car and Driver got 60 and 100 mph (160 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and 10.9 seconds, respectively. The car completed the Quarter Mile in 13 seconds flat at 110 mph (180 km/h).
The SL55 AMG was updated for 2007 with a 510 hp (380 kW), 531 ft•lbf (720 N•m) version of the same engine. With increased power and torque, the car can now, according to the official website, accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.4 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than before. The new model has only slight visual differentiators, the most noticeable is the three-slat grille rather than the four-slat version used previously. The top speed is limited to 155 mph (249 km/h), but can be extended to 186 mph (299 km/h) for an additional cost. The 6.3 liter V8 is expected to replace the current engine for the 2009 model year. Upon release in 2002 this was for it’s time the fastest automatic car in the world. Of course this was before the SLR mclaren hit the market in 2003-present.
The SL65 AMG version offers 604 hp (450 kW) from its twin-turbocharged 6.0 liter, 5,980 cc V12 engine at 5500 rpm. It retailed for $179,720 as of 2005. Mercedes-Benz listed a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds on their official website, though several road tests show that it actually takes under 4 seconds to reach 60 mph (97 km/h). Car and Driver achieved 60 mph (97 km/h) from a standstill in 3.8 seconds, 100 mph (160 km/h) in 8.2 seconds and recorded a Quarter Mile-time of 11.9 seconds at 123 mph (198 km/h).
The SL receives a face lift in 2008 featuring a new front end that evokes the classic 300SL with a large grille featuring a prominent 3-pointed star and twin “power domes” on the hood, the car also features new headlights with an optional “Intelligent Light System” and a new speed sensitive steering system. A more signifcant option will be the addition of a new entry-level model, the SL280 with a 228 hp (170 kW) V6. Another breakthrough for the facelift SL is a new 3.5 litre high-revving V6 with an 316 hp and 360Nm torque in the SL350, a improvement of 44 hp and 10Nm over the outgoing model. Also the outgoing SL55 AMG will be replaced by the newer M156 6.2 litre SL63 AMG. This has the new AMG developed 7-speed MCT “Multi Clutch Technology” semi-automatic transmission. This uses a twin clutch design, a first for Mercedes and AMG. It features a compact, wet start-up clutch and double declutching. it’s fitted with four drive modes: “C” (Comfort), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport plus) and “M” (Manual) and boasts 100 millisecond shifts in “M” mode. The face lifted SL will be debuted at the Geneva Auto Show.
